October 7, 2008When Teams Don’t Work Identifying and Overcoming the Barriers to Successful Outcomes
We desperately seek out one another to collaborate over time. That is, of course, until we run across some speed bumps along the way: barriers which erode our trust in one another or in the system under which we are often forced to operate. This workshop is designed to look at what makes teams succeed and fail. During the session, we will discuss the requirements for effective teaming, the common interpersonal obstacles we often face, and leadership strategies for overcoming these barriers.
October 23, 2008Becoming an Uncommon Leader Communication, Support, and Trust
This session will examine the numerous reasons why those who are expected to lead in today's changing business environment are often uncertain of their calling and therefore fail to live up to their potential as leaders. The session will address the fears managers often feel when thrust into leadership roles and explore the skills and techniques needed to overcome those fears by analyzing the four characteristics of effective leaders.
November 6, 2008Dealing with Difficult People
Dealing with people at their worst is something we all do everyday, but that doesn't make it any easier. In this humorous, informative seminar, Dr. Kirschner shows you how to take the pain out of dealing with problem people by revealing the attitudes and behaviors that will help you solve people problems. This presentation shifts the focus from being reactive to proactive, from struggling with people to building relationships with them, from seeing what's wrong to doing what is right.
December 3, 2008Authentic Leadership for Women
Influential and successful leaders like Eleanor Roosevelt or Washington Post publisher, Katharine Graham, were true to their core values and beliefs. They led through personal conviction, gaining power beyond their formal authority. Participants will examine their personal value propositions, assess their strengths and identify their leadership style. Questions and practice sessions will focus on leadership challenges drawn from participants' experience. Participants will leave this session empowered to be authentic leaders.
